The two earlier reefer ships built between 1934 and 1935 were the
prototypes for a class of very successful ships. The
"Richmond Castle" was the 3rd ship of the 'improved' batch that
followed directly on from the first two. Of these
first purpose built reefer ships for the Company three would be lost
to enemy action and a fourth to a navigational error. |
