Information  -

Hello Owen

Do you know if there is any records kept for the Castle Line pre 1900, my Great Great Grandfather John Davis was a seaman on The Garth Castle as a boy firstly in 1883 then 84,85,86,87,90.

He was Master on The Dunotter Castle in 1893 and on The Doune Castle in 1891. He sailed

on a few ships but died at the age of 38, so I am very lucky to have the information I do have.

What I am wondering is that maybe there might be some official write ups and photos of some of the Masters. Its a shot in the dark I know.

Kind Regards

John Davis
